Mathieu is here in Boulder travelling from France in his BJ45 and is going to spend a day or so with us. He is working on his truck and has a few things he wants to take care of. One issue he is having is he can't find tubes for the split rims. He has had to patch a few tubes and is wanting to get some regular tubeless style rims instead to make life easier.

Would anybody know where tubes are, or be willing to trade some steel 16 x 7-8" wheels for his 16" split rims?

Any ideas?

thanks,
Marco

Honestly I would keep the splits but that's just me. I ran mine for years out here with not 1 repair. I ran them into the maze last year no problems. I've seen tubes at walmart before, murdochs, etc. it's just a 16" tube. The tubes with the bent brass stems are usually a little bit more and harder to find. Usually any of the old tire places like coker and universal have them. Also all the mil surplus places usually have 6 and 7-16 tubes.

Make sure there is nothing in the tire and it's super clean. Even a small sticker from an inspector can rub a hole in them.

Send john a pm on mud. I think he's in utah now but last year when I was in delta he had plenty of tubes and liners

also any bridgestone/firestone dealer should be able to get you some...

Thanks for the leads on the tubes.. He's going to look for those at those places today. I still think he wants to swap though...

Marco, check with Nate at DSL (Across Arapaho from Home Depot). I know they still work on tractor and truck tires.
