My 1976 FJ40 (front discs, rear drums, mostly stock) needs some
brake work. My rear (smaller) brake fluid reservoir is losing brake
fluid, so there's a leak somewhere...may be the master cylinder,
may be a wheel cylinder, may be something else.

I don't have the time/tools/skills to do this myself. I used to take
the 40 to Charley's Toyota in Boulder, but they don't work on 40s anymore. And
ideally I'd find a shop in or near Boulder, so I can bike back to work/home
for drop off/pick up.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Robbie is the best local resouce for any Cruiser maintenance:

Did you tell Charley's what you need to be done? I'm surprised they would be unwilling to work on an FJ40 brake system. Toyota front disc / rear drum is pretty much the standard for Toyota trucks up to present day (minus the ABS).

But yea - if Robbie is able, he'd be the first and best choice in Boulder.

Talked to Charlie Bixby (not Charley the owner) this morning -
they are 'phasing out' working on 40s and 60s due to difficulty getting
parts and because their Cruiser mechanic retired. Yes, surprising
they won't even work on 40 brakes.

PM'd Robbie. Hopefully that will work out, if not I may
try Chan's in Boulder.
