Nice, sucks I don't even have the cash to bid on it.

Man, this guy hit every option. He has a post on mud, here, expedition portal, ebay, and probably a few others. I bid on it, but my guess would be that it goes way beyond what I want to spend on a replacement for my 45lpb

It's a little pricey for what he is 'asking'. The LHDs from south america in the same condition are getting this price nowadays.

Holy chit! That buy it now was not there when I bid....just said reserve not met. Guess my theory was correct!
BTW, "same condition" out of south america is pretty suspect. If the truck on ebay came from Australia, it may have some significant rust that's just been painted over. That's VERY typical in SA. They LOVE bondo and use it like mortar. Had a friend in NC that was from Colombia...hehe...nice guy, but his def of body work and mine were a bit different.

I agree... SA and Aus both have issues with hidden rust. A true rust free rig from Aussie would cost around $27-30+ after shipping and importation now a days. I know where I can get a rust free LHD troopy for around what he is looking for if anyone is interested.

For $30k, I would just buy a cheap 80, and an aqualu 4 door or troopie tub and build something "better". :) Tundra v8, coils, diff locks, aluminum, and gobs of personal labor.

Barry, are you getting rid of your LPB?

Yes.
I wasn't going to post it for sale until the spring though. There are a couple of things that need to be fixed (leaks) so that's its perfect. I went out to try to start it yesterday to drive around, and I let the battery go too long. Doh! Well, that optima lasted 9 years, I can't be disappointed too much in that.

Wish i could do it, I would love to own that rig. Maybe in a few years when they will cost even more. :o

Bummer, wish I had the cash. That's a sweet truck. :(

did you follow the ebay auction on this troopie? Topped out around $9k, which is exactly where I thought it should. I'm guessing he is rethinking his asking price, or he'll list it again hoping to find the one buyer out there. They do exist, but it takes time to find that person. I talked to a guy that sold his FJ45 lpb last month...turns out some kid musician bought it b/c he needed a biz write off. Guy got $25k with no haggling....and the kid had permagrin. He had just gotten back from some safari trip and couldn't live w/o it.
