2012 Wheel Bearing Packing Party WBPP

2012 WBPP is going to occur concurrent with the CM2012 Wrenching Sessions. The WBPP event is a long running Rising Sun tradition and the CM2012 Wrenching Sessions are something new. By folding the WBPP into the wrenching sessions we are better able to accomodate work and open up the opportunity by having more dates available. Packing bearings is very consistent with preparing our rigs for Moab and a natural fit for the wrenching sessions.

If you are a new vintage cruiser owner or recently taken an interest in doing more of your own maintenance on your vintage cruiser, this is a great event to get some experience as we generally have mentors in attendance who have maintenance experience.

If you are interested in packing your bearings, full front axle service, or any maintenance/Moab prep work on your rig - visit and sign up on one of the three CM2012 Wrenching session threads. Here are links to the CM2012 Wrenching Sessions.

In the past, I have coordinated purchasing parts for packing wheel bearings, but am asking that participants do that for themselves. There are many Toyota dealerships in town that are familiar with Rising Sun and are a great source for parts; Stevinson Toyota, Boulder Toyota, Groove Toyota and Go Toyota all offer Rising Sun Members a parts discount. If you go to Groove, Gene or Joe are very familiar with our older rigs. If buying from Toyota is not your thing, Slee Off Road and Cruiser Outfitters are great supporters of the Toyota community and can help you out. If you are really new to this stuff and don't know where to begin when it comes to parts, you might need to consider trading your old rig in on a late model :D - but it after thinking it over you still want to keep you old rig - shoot me a pm and I'll do my best to help you out:thumb:.
