View Full Version : Should it stay or should it go now?

If it stays it will be trouble....

If it goes it might be double....

Talking about my hardtop for the Chili. It once was fairly pristine, but negligent outside storage has reduced it to average. Still... it is functional, just needs a headliner, easy to do with carpet that matches the rear, and paint, which would look best in an off-black.

I have not put it on in years. I can really feel the weight up high when wheeling. It is occupying space in our driveway, and the lovely Mrs. Morgan wants it SOMEwhere else (can't blame her). I have rigging to hang it from the garage ceiling, but another project isn't what I need.

Should I get rid of it? It isn't worth much no doubt... but if I change my mind they will suddenly be made of gold if experience is any indicator.

Keep it. You won't need it as long as you do....

Yeh Bill I feel your pain. I have my original white and also a black one from the new body I put on my Runner. Definitely getting rid of the black one soon. But the white one......Not sure. Having the cloth top is fantastic and probably won't take it off but.....like I said. Not sure about this one.

Hmmm, what condition is the black one in, and what color interior?

I think, like me, you are looking at a storage unit in your future. or a separate building on property.

Or more likely, more efficient use of existing space... :lmao:

Don't store up for yourself treasures on your driveway where moth and rust destroy ;) :bill:

Get rid of it, you have an awesome soft top... who wants to run a hard top anyway! :D

put it in the back yard on some pressure treated 4x4"s. Instant dog house for your pups. If you need it jut go out back :D

The black one is a little bit lightened up and the interior is a red velvet type of thing to match the studly type interior of the person before me. Must have had visions of grandeur.

I vote sell it. Don't let the things you own, own you. I've known you almost 10 years and you've never had a hard top on.

Tey aren't worth much, $20-50 at the most. Tried selling mine several times with no luck as it still hangs in the garage. It is out of the way but I keep thinking of pulling the glass and cutting it up for the trash.

seriously, cut the cord.

I have a spare set of bodywork for the duc. if it didn't look good as wall art, it would be gone.
