Not sure if others are interested, but I've been looking for a new battery for my FZJ and came across this. While I hate mail in rebates... seems like a great battery for a good price.

Optima's quality has decreased over the past decade. I had one, but it was junk. I got rid of mine and bought a deka from hensley's. Sears Die hard platinum are good too.

Optima's quality has decreased over the past decade.

Optima's are now made in Mexico. The quality started dropping off after they moved out of the good ol' USA.

I don't buy optimas anymore either. Lately I've only bought Deka AGM's and Interstate for lead/acid old styles.

I have an old school optima in the pickup. 10 years old now and still working. Unreal. New ones, not so much.

Mine is running on 10 years now (Red Top), I wondering if they have restored their problems? The internet has a LONG memory.

I'm sold on Deka's! Awesome and Hensley stands behind what they sell!

They do stand behind what they sell. I've had one deka agm drop a cell and they pretty much replaced it no questions. They tested it and gave me a new one.

I have bought a few 2nds and They have been a pita. I'm not sure i'd buy anymore 2nds but the 2nds are super cheap.

I forgot to mention that mine is a red top Blemish that Steve H. picked up years back. He filled his whole truck and shipped me two. If I remember, they were $60/ea. The other one went in my brown 40 (rutbeer) and the guy I sold it to fried it with a dual batt gone wrong.

If anyone needs a battery. Sears has all Diehards on sale 25% off. I've been waiting since this thread for the Diehards to go on sale, so just picked one up this morning. WOOHOO!!
