View Full Version : Anybody been up to Meeker?

My work is sending me to Meeker for a week, here in a couple weeks. Anybody been up there? Anything to do this time of year? Looks like there might be some mtb opportunities, according to the MVUM I think a lot of the OHV trails are still closed, so no orange bike action I don't think :(.
Anything else? I read about fishing, maybe a little hiking, and a couple scenic byways?

Sweet country up the flat tops from that side. Some of the best high mountain lakes in the state to fish on both side of the road up to Trappers lake. Probably difficult to get to now. But, you could have fun trying based on when the roads open.

Take the Flat Tops Scenic Byway (a.k.a. 8) East from Meeker into the Flat Tops. Beautiful country, and you'll have it all to yourself this time of year.
Good Italian food at La Famiglia in Meeker. And friendly folks
at the Meeker Cafe (if it's open). Uneven food tho.

Meeker is a cool old small town. I call on the hospital. In August they have the sheep competition, like in the movie "Babe."
One of the Drs. drives a White Land rover with an RTT on top.
Folks seem happy there.
