Super jazzed about CM2012! Is it too early to start talking 2013? I'm sure all you "Organizers" are cursing me right now. You guys did an amazing job. CM2012 was the introduction to wheeling for both my wife and family. We all had a ball and the Misses finally understands my addiction. So do we know the 2013 dates?

That's awesome right there!

It's usually the first weekend in May.

The CM2013 committee will be forming in the next next couple of months why don't you volunteer to be on the committee and be a big part of bringing next years event to life.:thumb: We could use your enthusiasm.

lots of them, none that I really want to do but now is the time. seats, harnesses, full tube, cleaning out the factory wiring pile, boatside, and probably upgrading the rear shocks to 2.5's

Right on! We'll look forward to wheeling with you! Don't worry about mods - concentrate on the nut behind the wheel, that's the most important component in the whole rig.

If you have X hours and/or X dollars to spend on your rig, make sure you always prioritize maintenance and repairs way above mods.

Any stock or almost stock Toyota 4x4 can do most of our Moab trails with a good driver.

Yes, but if you're driving a 40, that power steering mod is a Godsend!

I guess it is important to some people. I have owned several cruisers without PS and several with. Both of my 40s and my 45 have factory steering by Armstrong. PS is a nice luxury, but I would put it at the middle of the list of importance of functionality in mods, with a rear locker at the top of the list and purple sex lights at the bottom.

More or less. The Kokpelli run is two nights and starts on April 30th. Here is the schedule, same as last year:

Tuesday - Kokopelli run starts
Wednesday - San Rafael Swell run starts, Registration, Safety Inspection
Thursday - Guided Trail Runs, Vendor Night
Friday - Guided Trail Runs, Dinner, Raffle
Saturday - Guided Trail Runs
Sunday - Clean up and depart

We are working toward a goal of opening registration around the middle of January.

Anyone Staying at MSR This year? If so what unit number?

I currently have unit 9 (3br, 3ba) and 6 (2br, 2ba on the lawn) reserved and will be finalizing things tomorrow, releasing the other to whoever. If you want one of these today or tomorrow let me know and I will have them release it to you.

I was also told that Unit 11 (2br, 2ba) and Unit 12 (2br, 2ba plus loft) are available. And that's it. They will probably be fully booked by the end of the week.

I wheeled with a bunch of these in stock LC120 diesel form in Jordan - they did great except for ground clearance and you seem to have solved that. I have been wondering if they would catch on here but even used so pricey. I look forward to seeing it in person.

I'll be sure to stop by to visit and compare notes and  There is only so much Slickrock I can take. The condo is for the sanity (and sanitation) of the family. I think they will be ready for a nice shower and comfy bed by the end of the overnight. :)

If I do the Kokopelli, I don't think the camper would not fare to well on RGH.

The camper can be rented for a price......

When I made my reservation at SCG, in the notes section I specifically praised them for the double cleaning they did at the bath houses last year, it really made a big positive difference IMHO.

Our original goal was to have the pages, code and database updated around the beginning of January and then go live to the general public around the middle of the month. I have provided the updated html and Kipper is working on the ASP and MySQL. I would say we are around a week behind where we would have like to have been. The holidays are always a tough time to squeeze in time for extra projects, but we're making good progress.

In the mean time, don't forget to put in for vacation time from work (if applicable) and reserve your spot at Slickrock Campground, if you are planning to stay there. When I reserved a couple weeks ago, the spot I wanted was already reserved, and so was the next one over, so I ended up with my third choice.

I need a little advice on what not to miss. This will be my first CM. As of right now, it's just me. My wife is staying home with the kids. There is a small chance Keagan (6yo) will come but it depends on school. We'll decide once the date gets closer.

If an overnighter is not to be missed, then I'll have a better idea of what to book as far as tent/cabin/truck spots for the other nights. I prefer the longer distance, sight seeing expo stuff as opposed to the all day crawling for just a few miles.
