Posted this on Mud but thought I ask here as well:

I'm putting an '86 2F into my '64 and have run into some trouble with the Carb Linkage. I'd like to use a throttle cable like these:

but have know idea which adapters or length I need. From my searches it seems like most use these on their 350 swaps. Has anybody used these on a stock 2F? If so, can you provide me with pictures, part numbers, or a common kit? Thanks in advance.

Putting an '83 2F into a '65 FJ45, I used a 1st gen 4Runner throttle cable. I had to cut the cable and housing shorter, but the cable had the correct nipple end to fit the gas pedal, and the other end I somehow fabbed to fit the carb linkage (I don't recall how). Anyway, the cable assembly was only a few bucks at the junkyard. Might be worth checking this out for starters.

I bought one of these and it's a good length because it's long enough to give some options on how you mount it to the carb:

I have a '66 with a '78 2F in it. I used a later model pedal and drilled a hole in the firewall to mount one end to the pedal. and built a white trash ('cause that's how I roll) adapter bracket that bolts to the base of the carb to mount the cable. Seems to work OK sitting in the garage, but I won't know until next week when I get everything finished up and cruise it around the block. It's all currently disassembled while I put a carb rebuild kit in, but once it's all together I can send you some pics. Or stop by any night next week Mon-Fri, family is out of town all week so
