View Full Version : Panasonic DMC-FZ150?

I am taking a hard look at this camera for the :Princess:'s birthday present. We love the Leica optics on the Panasonic cameras. Looking to upgrade from the plain vanilla point n shoots, but not ready to step up to DSLR.

We are primarily looking for less shutter lag, good burst mode (to catch those moving kids), decent optical zoom and more shooting flexibility without sacrificing effective auto mode when needed. This camera seems a likely candidate. It is a little pricey, though, at around $450.

I know that Corbet recently got one. How about a post Moab field review? Anybody else have one, or have any other input?

I like mine a lot. Did not take a whole lot of pics this year at CM12. I did post some zoom shots in my old thread" http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/forum2/showthread.php?t=17029&page=2 As well as the CM12 trail report. You can see those examples there;)

Overall I'm real happy with the camera so far. A DSLR would be better but this is a fraction of the price.

I'll add that the 12 fps burst mode is stupid fast. I use the 5.5 for kids more often. But 12 will catch things moving fast.
