Well, last weekend was so much fun, we may as well go wheeling again! Slaughterhouse Gulch this time (near Bailey). Work schedules dictate another late start, so we'll meet at the Loaf 'n Jug at Hwy 285 and CO 43A (173 Bull Dogger Road, Bailey, CO) at 10:00. We'll air down at the trailhead and try to be on the trail by 10:30. I've never run it, but it looks to be relatively mellow with a chance of mud.

Check the details on Trail Damage: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=2.

This will be another kid-friendly run with a lunch stop (and probably some diaper changes and potty breaks).

So far, it's the Goodheart crew and the Hurleys. Let's go take advantage of this great weather.

it's a very mellow loop. one short steep section but not difficult. we were up there back in march. should be nice with more leaves on the trees.

Slavin, come on out. I just want my truck to show up in one or two of your awesome photos! Nice work as always. Bring the puppy, no better way to initiate the new family member :D

Looks like we've got to be in Ft Collins at 10 to pick up the pup so I'll have to pass this time around. I'm fairly certain we'll have a number of other opportunities to get your truck in a photo or two. No worries there.

Here's a little vid of the trail. Might give you a better idea. The FunTreks book rates it as difficult and I have no idea why.

We're adopting a Border Collie/Husky mix. Elfie, our Leonberger, needs a buddy badly. Should be a super fun pup and in the pictures we've seen, she looks totally like a Husky except for the long straight tail like a Collie. And yes, this means there will be 6 females in the house. Just shoot me now.

Got to love those low hanging branches. Camera didn't skip a beat and not a scratch on it. :thumb:

The trail was a lot more challenging before the forest service graded it a couple of years back. Now the only real challenge is the hill climb if you stay to the left. The line on the right is easy. I've run it several times in my stock open 67 FJ40 on 29s with no problem and no damage. :thumb:

How does this compare to Red Cone?

If Red Cone were a 5 on a 1-10 scale, Slaughterhouse would be a 3.5.

Tried this one last year on the "Blow off work trip" and found out I had vapor lock issues 20ft into the trail. New header and a little electrical work and I think I'm ready for another try. I'll be the one in the mustard 40.
