along with some pics from crystal mountain yesterday afternoon, and today as we were being evac'd. there are deaths involved, although a local said they haven't released the info yet, but it was a farmers wife and possibly the farmer also, who was last seen trying to push his cows to a higher pasture. :(

Yea pretty crazy. We could watch the smoke and steam plume grow as the day went on yesterday. 10% humidity at the house. Hopefully they can get a handle on it if the winds die down today.

From the maps I was looking at yesterday, it seems like the southern edge of the fire is on the verge of encroaching on the Moody Hill and Crystal Mtn trails. As I recall, there are a lot of residences up around Crystal Mtn. :(

It was on ridge away when we were on Moody yesterday

I saw a special on Discovery or Nat Geo on these things and they are the bomb...no pun intended

Hey you all! Been a while since I have posted up over here.

Seems as if Moody and Crystal are spared so far, although West white Pine may get it on the SW corner of the fire area. If you look at Ige's photo of the "Mushroom" on Saturday, you will see East White pine mountain to the left and all of the beetle kill on the south face. Today East White Pine was burning near the summit. Now it seems that the southerly wind is pushing the north end beyond the river at Steven's gulch an evacuation order for Glacier View was given a few hours ago. Small smoke plumes litter the foothills from the west end of Bellevue where the fire was coming down on Monday/Tuesday. I would get pictures, but it is so black that the glare would not allow for a good picture in the afternoon.

These are the videos I took on 6/13 and most of this area has now been affected by the fire. You can see the Kelly Flats bridge to the campground over the river, the dirt road in the distance is the Pingree Park road, and the mountain with the granite scar is Mt.McConnell. All of these were taken from the North and West of the fire facing South.

Heres a link to my photobucket! We were actually out on Old Flowers Road the morning of the fire. Got some decent pics and a neat little video of a sky crane heli dropping down in front of us to fill up with water. The first of these were taken at about 10:30, you can see where we topped over Rist Canyon road and got some pics there on the way down. The fire was so small. Then towards the end of Old Flowers looking back behind us, that thing was huge!!! Check em out here. You will have to click on the actual video to see it, if you view it as a slideshow it skips the video.

They have closed 74E to support evacuation of the Glacier View subdivisions between the river and Red Feather Lakes road. It'll only get worse today with 100* temps and a SW wind :(
