Wow, we actually have a Saturday with no plans?! I'm going to load my boys up (5 and 3) and head up to the high country to do some exploring tomorrow. Owen really wants to catch a snake, so we'll be on the lookout for those, and of course dinosaur bones. I'll most likely bring some fishing poles too.

I'm thinking Loch Lomond since I've never been up there and it's pretty short trail. High elevation too, so it should be nice and cool. Not sure on a departure time yet, probably leaving west arvada around 9, let me know if you're interested in coming along and we can figure out a place to meet.

I don't know if the Kingston Peak trail connects. The map I have (FunTreks book) shows it on Steuart Road, just past the Kingston trail.

Owen was up puking last night, so we are probably out :( If he is 100% when he wakes up, we'll still go, but that is unlikely.

Bummer. That's too bad. We're still planning on heading up.

Hope Owen feels better.

Glad we crossed paths and that the little guy was feeling better. Spotted a camp site on the way down that I think we're going to try and nab in a couple of weeks. Can't beat the views up there.

You could connect by foot Shawn, but not in the trucks. Need to drive down to Alice then as the houses start take the right turn up towards Loc Lamond.

but I'd like to do the hike someday, would be sweet with the boys- get dropped off in the saddle before the Rock house, then walk down to lake and get picked up. :thumb:
