There's a fire burning now in Walker Ranch for the past couple of hours. Flagstaff is currently closed. Looks like its off Bison Dr.

There's another one burning somewhere between Boulder and Longmont.

If anyone up that way needs anything, get in touch. We've got extra space.

Pretty wild! I, and my manager, at the Boulder property were working on the field well when the freaky electric storm came up, We watched the first strike just behind Bear peak. Just about 10 minutes after that another strike hit on our side of the mountain in the Shannahan ridge area. A fire immediately started and to our amazement the fire crews were on it and got it put out. We thought that was that and on my way home I could see the smoke coming up from where the first strike hit. Scary stuff! This is gonna be a bad one as that area is really wooded and steep! The fire grew from 6 acres when I first heard news of it to over 200 acres an hour later! Pre evac reverse 911 calls have already gone out for the west side of Boulder.

Nuts, I can see the flames from all the way down here.

Damn. I was hoping it wasn't going to grow that fast. Wind has been blowing to the east too. Feels like Mother Nature has decided a reboot was necessary...

Pretty nutty. I was at the office and thought the storm was bad news... a few minutes later we saw the smoke. I watched it grow and finally decided to bag it and ride home. First stop was my friends house near table mesa and 93/broadway. It's dang close to his place it feels like and I think they got the reverse 911 (but they have cell phones so no real call per say). From our place it is much farther but still looks ominous.. Can't see it from the trees at our house, but from the corner of baseline and 30th it is not good looking.

Lets hope they get it under control before nightfall. If anybody needs help that is closer to it let us know please.

much better this morning. Impressive work by the fire crews.

Last night we could see fire on the ridge, but the retardant must have kept it down.

Nice. Glad to see that. Taking a spin around Marshall?

The wind is really fanning the hotspots! Only one chopper dropping water right now seems a little over optimistic!

This is turning out to be one crazy summer. One of our major clients is in the Springs, and that site is now evac'd and being threatened. If that one in Boulder goes, we may have multiple client sites at risk. Just nuts. I feel bad for those that have lost their homes. My home was hit by a tornado, and it's a horrible feeling to be displaced. Though, if you make it out healthy, that's really all that matters.

I agree that they may be being overly optimistic.... we'll see how it goes today. right now news shows it hasn't grown.

Now the CS fire is just tragic. Holy cow..

Sean, we were commuting via MM. No time for more than a quick pass through on the normal daily route.

I drove up from Pueblo yesterday and was blow away by how close that fire was to I25. That was before the wind and homes that were lost. This is pretty scarry. I am praying for rain.
