I've been wanting to explore this area for a long time. Leaving Tuesday morning for extended exploring in the Dolores Triangle area. I have GPS tracks for 4 backroads routes from Grand Junction to Moab and I want to check them out. Tracks came from here (http://www.myxj.net/blog/1107). I will be driving the Dolores Triangle route to Dewey Bridge first. Then poking around on the Kokopelli route. Likely returning to GJ on the Sheep Creek route. Or whatever else comes up. :hill:

If I get tired of that area I may head over to the Swell and crash the Outlaw Run. :D

If anyone wants to tag along let me know. All are welcome, and the routes will be totally stocker friendly as far as I can tell, except maybe the switchbacks on Sheep Creek, which I will not drive if it's muddy or snowy:

Look forward to the report on this one Dan, that's my next area to explore for sure. If you haven't already, you should ping JonHarris... he's local on those parts and could probably give you a lot of recommendations. He and I must have talked about that area for an hour last spring in Moab.

We'll be down in E-Hill that weekend, feel free to run on down if you need some company! :thumb:

that's Great!!! do you think you'll try to hit the crossing we did pre-moab?

Pretty desolate out there. Sounds fantastic.:thumb::thumb:

If/when you have cell service, go to aprs.fi on the web...then search for my call sign (KD0MZE). you'll see exactly where we are on the Outlaws run. I'll have the repeaters dialed in as well.

The Dolores Triangle route comes out at that same crossing. Hopefully it won't be as deep in October! I'll def check out aprs.fi if I am looking for some outlaws. :D

More than welcome to, stop by man! FYI, the paved route from Delta to Moab is a great drive. Gateway, Co is an interesting place. Bought up lock stock and barel by the owner of the Discovery Channel. The water flume above the Delores has me intrigued.

Starbucks in GR? Thought we learned the last time.

Thanks for the invite Perry! :)

Do you have a location for this water flume?

Never mind. I found the flume and it does look intriguing. Google is my friend!

The Triangle is a special place and it's secrets don't come out often. One can be out there for days and not see a sole. It looks like you are on the right track for a great trip though, there are so many roads out there that the sky is the limit......

Edit, Here are a couple of pics.
