Made the dumb mistake of forgetting to latch my hood yesterday. As I crested Floyd Hill on my way to the Argentine Pass work day, a huge gust of wind threw it open into my windshield. It's toast. :(

If anyone has a lead on a decent one, let me know. Bonus points if it's faded Rustic Green.

Martin, do you want a split hood or do you want the correct hood for your '73? I swear I saw someone wanting to trade a split hood for a non-split hood on MUD, but can't find it now...

I have a blue early model hood on my 79 that I have a replacement later model hood for, just needed the motivation to switch it. It's in decent shape, a small crease I think, no hardware would come with it. Let me know if it sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Any photos? I can reuse my hardware, so it might work if the crease isn't worse than what I have. What are you asking for it?

Any year will do, unless anyone knows of any variations that don't fit.

Thanks Farnham. I was bummed out and felt pretty stoopid when it happened, but I was also glad to to be out wheeling after being on crutches and house bound for two months.

If I have to repaint a hood, it might motivate me to get those extra hard doors and top I have panted too. ;)

That looks promising. Another shot showing the dent in at a better angle would be good to see. Thanks.

58-9/71 (seven louvers per side, split, chrome spear, no safety latch, hood prop in the center, washer hole)

9/71-12/74 (nine louvers per side, single piece, no spear, rubber bumper, hooks bolted to hood, safety latch, hood prop on the side)

1/75-1984 (same as 9/71-12/74 with metal hood bumpers/hook combo and the later latch safety striker on the front, dummy washer plug 9/77-9/83)

So Martin, yours is supposed to have a safety latch. Do you not?

No safety latch. It's an older split hood too.

Just bang it out!

Just bang it out!

That's what I'll do for the short term. :hill: Just figured since I have a set of doors and a nice top to paint, might as well do a straight hood while the paint is mixed. This hood will never be dent/crease free again.

Martin has dibs first, But I'm interested in this for my 68 with a (wrong) non-split hood. Dean.

More pics, dedinately some small dents and creases, but overall ok.

It's a '73 Hood.
