Pretty amazing considering my brain is mush these days. Probably getting a 2 meter radio, I'm thinking SWR and volt.

thanks guys!

wow no one laughed at my HAM joke? get it? two meter. voltmeter and swr meter? 2. meters.

:lmao:

ok, that's really bad.:hill:

I'm shopping for a radio now. I guess I should leave the old CB in my truck for Cruise Moab and things like that? I'm really looking forward to the communication upgrade.

Good work Kip!

I have found that it's good to maintain both modes of communication, especially if you are going to be leading runs. There are still lots of folks who haven't joined the Ham club...

Congrats, you'll never want to use the CB again, but kind of have to keep it for CM.

If only I could get the Durango crew to see the light. Well some have but not got of their bums to start the license process.

Actually, you will use the CB when you wheel with anyone other than RS! The beauty is you can be talking to your RS buddies while you wheel with someone else! :lmao: Irreplaceable for emergency and clear communication...bar none!

Every time I'm out with a few HAMs and a few CB's it makes me wonder why anyone would use CB anymore. If they could hear the two side by side, they'd all be convinced. I never knew til I had them both at the same time.
Congrats! :thumb:

Recent Outlaw's Run: every single rig had ham. It makes everything better, and it's a true win when you don't have to make accommodations for the one CB guy.

Yes, a.k.a. a "ham & eggs run." I'd be up for it, how about 11/24?

25 years after I started studying Morse Code and puttering around a ham shack as a Boy Scout, I've finally gotten around to taking (and passing) the Tech exam this afternoon. About time, huh? :D

Congrats, BJ!!! Look forward to hearing you on the air.

I printed out the General questions & highlighted all the answers. I plan to knock that out after I (hopefully) finish up college this fall.
