Does anyone know when the 80 changed the rear sway bar mount (to the frame) from the "hanger style" mount to the bottom of the frame mount? Mine is a 4/96 and has the bottom of the frame mount, so I assume this is newer style? Anyone know when the change occurred?

Mine looks like this (picture has drop bracket for lifted truck) - note the link on the right side of the picture where the sway bar mounts vertically into the bracket.

Edit: If anyone has a stock, straight rear sway bar for an FZJ80, let me know.

I don't have any first hand experience, but slee lists out the dates of the different drop brackets on their website, if this helps?

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know of any local sources/part outs? I'd prefer not to pay for shipping since it's a large, bulky item, and it seems like sway bars tend to be retained with a rear axle assembly rather than sold separately. Mine is bent up pretty good...

Last time I was at Blake's they had several '93 and '94 80's, which won't work for me per the above.

Jacket, Sorry that I didn't see your request for the sbar at the bottom of your post. I don't use mine as I rotated my rear axle up to save the drive shaft from rock abuse. I'll scare up another if I ever need it....or better yet I'll use an Anti-Rock on which would give me adjust-ability while getting it up out of the weeds.

Ha!!

No spare sway bars in my stash...3rd row seats, LX body panels, and a drive shaft :D
