I am in 164. Normally I like to be right behind the cabins around 176-180 or so where the action is, but this year it will be in the big tent so I moved down to the south side. 162 and 163 were already taken when I made my reservation.

Not to worry, it was the valiant volunteers of campsites 162 & 163 who had that fire out using vehicular fire extinguishers long before the boys in bunker gear showed up. We'll make sure no cabins burn down.....unless its really cold and we run out of firewood :D

actually, if you have little ones I wouldnt camp near spots 162ish. Put the kids to bed and the walk over to that spot for a big fire and some partying.

Down at the other end of that same line in the back is fairly quiet in the evening.

bottom right corner on the map is usually pretty tame.

whiskey bottle and fire location is a nice hang out.

none of it is a drop dead drag out party all night though... although i guess the fire dept did show up last year.

I'm up the road at the HIE..... I'll just drag my cooler down the street like a hobo.... Someone will let me share a spot around the fire, right?

Im signed up for the Kokopelli. After 3 days on the trail, I'd like to take at least one proper shower and sleep in a bed. Sand makes me itchy.

Well, I know at most events there are louder and more party animal places and some quieter places. I'm thinking as long as we're not directly next to the whiskey fun it will be just fine. :) although we may have to trade off nights on baby duty and head over for some fun!

If you only want to listen to the crickets at night, get as far away as possible from 162 :D. We like to laugh, talk, and tell stories late into the night. We also like to listen to old rock N' Roll music but we keep the volume down after Stevie goes to bed.

Though we may stay up late things remain pretty civilized around the fire. Sascha lets his little guy hang out with us and we havent corrupted him. Brady can get a little crazy and dance around with a lamp shade on his head, or throw peoples keys in the fire, but he's always lights out by 10 PM anyways. The fire circle is open to anyone who wants to come by, just bring your chair and drink of choice. If you really want to be accepted warmly into the group, bring a bottle of manly whiskey. Dont bring any of that foofoo flavored stuff that Brady brings. :D

We are lucky in that our daughter sleeps better with some noise than total silence. We'll definitely head over for a bit, but I won't be drinking anything manly. :Princess: This girl will be living on the wild side and having a regular Coke. I'm pregnant, so no fun beverages for me, but I'm sure my hubby will bring something to share.

No denying that. The thought of pooping in a bag for three days has me upset enough. I owe the ring of fire attendees a bottle of hooch as payment for my :Princess:like ways. Duely noted, payment forthcoming.

We'll typically get a separate thread started as people get a better idea of their departure time. Caravans are good!

Instead of "sleeping" I believe the technically correct term for your induced state of unconsciousness is "****faced" :D :lmao::lmao::lmao: Sharon was wandering around in circles yelling "fire, fire" but it was actually Schlegs who first pointed out that the cabin was on fire. Of course he was a little unstable on his feet too so at first we thought he was just imagining it.
