Found a clean and fairly original '79 FJ40. Has original paint (top not original obviously); very little rust. Rear quarters had minor rust and it was cut out and new steel welded in. I am going to see if I can turn this little rig into a nice driver/camper. It is a pretty big project that I don't have a lot of time for right now, but I couldn't pass up a nice late model 40. I am a sucker for the square besels.

I've got boxes full of the original parts; they all seem to be in good shape. There are a few odds and ends that I need that I posted in the classifieds.

Sweet - should be a bunch of fun getting it all back together and on the road. :D

Hey Randy--yeah, it had an idling gremlin that I finally gave up on and so I let the truck go last year.

That is way cool. I'm getting geared up to start the paint project with the paint I bought from you....might have a line on a free paint booth. Weather is warming up...time to meet for margs at Casa! Doug

I may be able to help you out in the door department. I have some pretty good spares, both front and rear ambulance doors. Let me know if you want to take a look at them, and we can commense to haggling!

Engine has not run in at least 1.5 years. Installed a new thermostat and coolant tonight. Hooked back up the heater and copper hoses. Also reinstalled the heater control valve.

I was looking for a spare passenger door not too long ago...

Refilled coolant, checked for leaks. Reconnected a lot of wiring under the hood and added gas to the tank. Poured a little down the carb barrels and she fired right up!

The carb has a gas leak at the accelerator pump (dry-rotted seal), so I am going to do a rebuild tomorrow.
