View Full Version : Made my own short shifter

So I made a short shifter for the R150 Tacoma transmission. I lengthened the shaft below the fulcrum by around an inch by TIG welding in a piece of solid rod. and then made a spacer for the whole assembly. It works great! The throw is around 4.5 inches, stock was around 7 inches. I haven't cleaned it all up yet because it was more of an experiment at first, but now I know it will work. The best thing is that I have no money in it:

Here is a drawing I made for the spacer, in case anyone wants to make their own, its pretty simple. I would guess that it will work for the older R150's as well:
