I am able to take a couple of weeks off in mid-late Sept and hope to go to some of the areas that I went to around Ouray in early August. What is the weather most likely to be at that time?

I realize that it is likely to be uncertain at high altitudes.

Anybody taking off and doing something during that time frame?

I'd say 60's, depends on elevation. Cool nights in the 30's with 30 degree temp swings if weather rolls in.

Layer appropriatly

What weather that time of year?
Be prepared for all four seasons. You'll likely see them all. Take chains just be-case.
Layers- it's not just for cake anymore...

Or it could be balmy. Unpredictable just doesn't do it justice.
