I plan on driving to a basketball tournament.

unfortunately, I don't know how to set up an "official" run here. Nor am I sure that I'm at the point that I could take the responsibility for other folks. In other words, I don't even have a winch yet :o

I would suggest an attempt on North Twin Cone Peak.

It doesn't have to be an "official" run. Just post up that you'll be running (insert trail) and would love to have some company. I believe an official run would be one set up and organized by a RS member, but nothing stops you from posting up.

My wife is out of town this weekend, so I am home with all the kids. But, they love to get out.....there is a chance I could go out tomorrow after 10am.

Chinaman Gulch sound interesting to anyone?

Maybe Lefthand Canyon?

Doesn't have to be early at all Fishy - I love to sleep in :-)

What day? I'm working on my junk tomorrow, but may be ready for a run on Sunday.

It seems that nothing has been determined yet, so maybe tomorrow if today doesn't pan out into anything.

I MIGHT be able to sneak away for a quicky on Sunday.....that is a huge might!

I would be interested in trying to join you guys if you do relatively close run.

I can't get out tomorrow, but if you go I would suggest something other than Twin Cone.

With a starting evevation of over 10,000ft and topping out at almost 12,500ft, you're wasting your time. It's early June.....

Not according to Bushducks (http://bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm#twincone). :D

I can't see that trail being open all the way, but I guess I'm wrong.:o

Yes, well I did say and "attempt" :lmao:
I have no real expectations of actually getting all the way to the top right now. But ya never know till you try, I guess.

The report from BushDucks made it sound like it's still a little messy up on top. Sounded that way to me anyways. :D

I'm out for the day. But it's already 10am. Why don't you guys run Slaughterhouse? Quick drive from Golden/Denver. We usually meet here...

There is a gas station right there. About 8 minutes to the trailhead. Meet at noon, be done by 2-3pm, grab a quick bite at Hog Heaven BBQ.

Or, go give Twin Cone a look. Meet at the same place as above. About 30 mins to the trailhead. Trailhead is on the left and marked as CR 872. Plenty of signs......

There it is.....post up a trip report! Be safe and have fun!

What? You were the thread starter here..... bring your wife along! I already set it up for you.

Thanks Stan! I might go give twin cone a look. From what I've seen on traildamange, Slaughterhouse and Twin Cone might be equally muddy:( this time of year but if I can get some views out of it, it might be worth it...

Slaughterhouse won't be muddy. We were just up there 2 weeks ago in the rain and it wasn't muddy. Twin Cone will have MUCH better views than SH too. But, Slaughterhouse is fun, quick and easy.

Oh okay. That's what I get for assuming! I think I'd still like to gain as much elevation as possible just cause I haven't had a chance to yet...

Alright. I can't stand just sitting around here any longer. I'm going to fabricate a bracket for my tool box, and then I'm headed up to see what north twin cone peak looks like. It's been bugging me ever since I only was able to make it up half way last time.

I'll post up on here when I leave. It'll probably be around noon. So, that'll put me at Kenosha Pass by 1:45-2:00 Hopefully, if all goes well.

WyoOtto, you wanna come along?

WyoOtto

I'm heading out the door right now to go that direction. I have company coming in late this afternoon so I have to be back at a reasonable hour. I'll be in front of you but I'm certain we will cross paths. I'm in a black pink panty cruiser.
