View Full Version : Friday poll - Worst 40 quote

Which is the most despised phrase in our 4wd community? Just for fun - not trying to pick on anyone. :)

I voted "nice jeep" but the one I really hate is "triple locked" when referring to an 80 series with lockers. The transfer case is not a locker:banghead:

Yeah, Nice jeep is dumb.

My two biggest are

T4R. Hate that. What are you, 13?

and the one that makes me feel like dope-slapping someone is, "Whats the best, cheapest....." Seriously? You can have best, and you can have cheapest, but you cannot have both. Quit whining that quality costs money.

I actually don't like "RIG". I have no idea why, but it makes me unreasonably angry. Haha. It doesn't drill for oil, and I didn't stitch it together with coat hangers.

"She" and "her"...... Hate them both. "She's got new brakes on her" Ugh!

I always thought "hundy" sounded stupid but you can call your truck anything you want.

A while back when I drove my 40 to work I overheard a kid say to his dad, "Did you see that cool old army Jeep out back?"

I am familiar with the sailing term and origin of "she" for describing the ship. All have their place. Describing a rig, truck, Jeep, Hundy, or any vehicle is not one of them. There are some ladies who would take offense to such things......

Was asked the "what year is your FJ" question about the 40 yesterday. Told the guy it is an FJ40 and that it's a '77. At least he said it was "nice" which is another dumb descriptor.

Somebody recognizes your truck and is kind enough to strike up a conversation about it, just take it as complement and go on with your day. I love talking about WilderNests in parking lots. Half the people have no idea what they are, much less exact terms. "Hey, isn't that one of those Westfalias or something?" "Yup, it's a WilderNest!"

I'm starting to not like "off roading." I don't think my truck has ever been off road, in fact I plan to explore some new Forrest Service roads this Saturday... :)

I'd rather go Jeepin' than off roading. heck I'd rather go Jeepin' than do a lot of things, for that matter.

"Nice Truck...do you go J**ping in it?"

The one that pissed me off most is "nice Jeep".

I just drove the 40 from CB to Tucson (yes, 16 hours and temps of 108...no A/C, No radio, No cruise control) and it was GREAT. Saw one other 40 northbound on I-25 south of ABQ and they gave me the high sign. One guy at a gas stop in T or C offered to trade his two grandsons for the 40....must have been a bad camping trip....

Most cool was two young kids at a burger stop...the said "Nice Ride"...best comment they could have made! T

" Hey, do you know Drew Frazer?"

" Hey, do you know Drew Frazer?"

That's funny right there! :hill:

True. Especially if it's a :Princess:.

I only had two dates ever know the difference between my FJ40 and a Jeep. One owned a mild CJ5 and was very impressed with the 40 the other just knew it was a Cruiser. Neither outlasted my relationship with the 40:o

" Hey, do you know Drew Frazer?"

:lmao:I get that all the time down here, not Drew but someone else in town with a Cruiser. Generally I do know whomever;) Its a small town.

"What's that thing" she says as I pick her up for a date. "A Snorkel". On the plus side right there I know how its going to go, and if she knows its a snorkel ....
