There's an inexplicable opening in my schedule this weekend, at this point Saturday morning is available. Would like to sneak in a ride- anyone up for some throttle turning this Saturday? thinking Rollins/Jenny/Mammoth/Moon/Yankee/Kingston area.. park near Tolland?

Becky is riding the MS150 this weekend so I'm on kid duty. I need to find someone to pawn my kids off on. :D

You might consider starting at West Magnolia (assuming it is open now) and riding that section a bit - there are a few fun loops and spurs to play on. You can then drop down to Rollins Pass Road (near the 1st railroad bridge) and cruise over to Mammoth.

Checking out the MVUM now, that does look interesting. I'd likely still park in Tolland though then just drive down to it, that way I could gas up again and hit the south side as well. Looks like quite a bit to explore in there though, cool.

Need a plate for that?

Wanted to ride singletrack up in Rand but got stuck helping my wife early, riding Day in the Dirt at IMI Sunday

I say yes, technically a plate would be required to bounce around between Magnolia and Mammoth. Not if we just did the Magnolia area though.

I can rustle up a plate.

never been there, any singletrack or no?

sounds fun though I've only got one track day on the bike so far this year, need to get back in the swing after knee surgery :)

Haven't ridden it, so we may find some single track but who knows.. I'll bring the map. how's 9:00 in Rollinsville sound?

let me get back to you, might have to be a bit later. I have to help my wife cart a bunch of stuff to an outdoor market

but its pretty early, just have to see if I have enough time to get back and loaded and to Rollinsville by 9 :)

and I'm out :(

Have to help my wife with her show saturday...ugh

I'm itching to get in the mountains though, there are some really good looking singletrack rides near Aspen I've been dying to try in addition to Rand!

Well you guys missed out. Bruce and I did a good portion of west Mag, then Moon Gulch, upper Mammoth (the Kingston gate is still closed, until 7/15), and explored all the camps that surround Mammoth Gulch Reservoir. About 50 miles of riding and yes, even some single track... who'd a thunk it, but there's single track on the MVUM. I didn't take a single picture, was having too much fun :moto:

I don't see any singletrack?

Because you're looking at a map, not meeting us to ride. The roads are still labeled as open to all vehicles, however the vegetation & erosion would challenge that. You'll just have to come see for yourself.:p:
