Sarah and I are running Red Cone Saturday. You will recognize the two built white 100 series

Anyone that wants to join can meet us at the Conoco in Bailey Saturday at 9AM

We will be on HAM on 146.460

Plan on eating lunch near the top. Then will come back either Webster to 285 or via Montezuma to I-70 depending on the state of that drift and what we feel like doing. May want to do Radical Hill as well. Never know

Let me know if anyone else is going. If its just us we may play it a little looser on time and not stop in Bailey

I'd love to join, so I'll see if we have any plans for Saturday morning already!

I may join you, but I have to work at 4, so I may just hustle over the top and skip lunch. Does anyone know if Webster is open yet?

Ken, Looks like I may be in for this one. haven't been down Red Cone since they flatened out the mogul field that it used to be back in the late 80's.

I'll be at Cub Scout camp with Charlie. Wish I could do this run with you, Ken.

Looks like we're in. My little sister just bought a Wrangler Unlimited (sport no Rubi) and is considering driving instead of riding passenger. Would that be ok to join up with us? I'll be there in my 100.

that would be fine

Update - she's a nurse and forgot she's picking up an extra shift Saturday at the hospital, so it will just be me and my girlfriend in the 100.

Looks cooler and like rain later in the day. Thinking the trail is still OK to run since we are starting in the AM and should be at the summit around noon. Anyone have any reports?

They're actually calling for snow above 12k. It rained like crazy up there yesterday and Webster Pass is still blocked.

There was a dusting of snow above 11,000' at Loveland Ski Area last night.

Stan , looks like you were just up there. Should I move this to the following week? Getting stuck in poor weather not only isnt safe, but takes the fun out of it

I ended up not going, two of my buddies went. It was wet and cold and they got rained on pretty good. I left the house to meet them on I70 and we were gonna head out to Wheeler Lake, but they called and said they were toast. It was just raining too hard, so I just came back home. Never rained a drop at my house!

Totally your call. I'll show up if you're still running...... Or I'll come next week too. The earlier the better tomorrow, before the rains move in and the temps dip.

The last time I ran it I was in a CJ5 with no doors or roof and it rained on me pretty good! The 100 is obviously a bit more insulated, however I agree it wasn't too fun with the poor weather and visibility.

Yeah, Sarah and I are both working though

Looks like no snow based on the forecast. Lots of rain tonight, then rain tomorrow after noon. We should be fine and just not stop for lunch before the peak. Should be off the peak before the rain

Rain will not be your problem! Being on a high iron content (red) mountain peak in a lightning storm will over-charge your batteries!

Ken... just wanted to confirm the meetup time and place. Still 9am? Or earlier/later? And, the Conoco right in Bailey (bottom of hill just after the big curve?) Or, the Loaf n Jug at 285 and Bulldogger Rd in Bailey?

Thinking about heading out tomorrow for a photo excursion. It's been far too long. I wouldn't mind some company if you don't mind waiting on me as I make some images.

It was a total beat down for me today..... Should be a pretty interesting trip report complete with carnage and repairs. Once again, Rising Sun leaves no one behind.
