We split into two groups in the King Soopers parking lot. Out of 8 rigs, 4 went to do Redcone and 4 did Slaughterhouse. Those of us that did Slaughterhouse had pizza. I dunno if the Redcone group is even back on pavement yet ;)

We had a splendid time with only 4 rigs - Dan Kucera led and I gunned. Dan was in his 80 and I was in my 60. Ken Davidson was there in his 40, and newcomers Mike and Jenna and their two kids were there in their new-to-them 85 Runner. They liked wheeling in a group, and I think we got them hooked on Rising Sun.

The weather was splendid, the trail was in remarkably good shape considering how much rain we've had in recent weeks. There was very little trail traffic, as is usually the case on a Wednesday and we just had a good old time! I took over a hundred pictures, here (http://rzeppa.org/Gallery/index.php?album=Slaughterhouse-Gulch-August-14-2013/) is the link to the full collection. Mike and Jenna and their kids - I'll edit and put their name up whenever Mike posts up and reminds me. I do remember that the son was 11 and the daughter was 9.

I took a lot of pictures through my windshield; we didn't stop a lot. I need to clean the inside of my windshield

Goofing around at the little circle down the gulley from the meadow at the bottom of the big hill. Dan picked up a bunch of trash. The kids played on rocks and trees. It was beautiful.

The wildflowers were loving the cool, wet summer we have been having lately.

Obligatory wheeling shots coming up the hill from the meadow. The hill seemed pretty tame this year compared to some other years. First, Dan in his 80.

Next, Mike in his Runner.

And then, Ken in his 40.

Thanks for the pics Jeff. It was a nice run, with near perfect weather. Mike and Jenna are cool folks and will make a great addition to RS if they decide to join. Plus Mike is an auto body man!

Pizza at JJ Madwell's was excellent as usual. :D

Thank you. All of you are great guys too. We had a great time being included. Thank you Jeff, Ken, & Dan, who we ran with and all of RS for the hospitality. We will be at more events, and would love to try to join as soon as possible.

What a great day. The sun was shining on both runs simultaneously and raining everywhere else. From the looks of it from Red Cone, we figured you guys were getting soaked!

It looked ominous where we stopped for a break at the meadow below the hill, but it cleared up after we went up the hill, and was bright and sunny on the way out.
