Hey everyone!

Looking for a drivers side steering knuckle housing, mine has a nice stripped hole in it where the caliper mounts.

This housing should be for a disk brake front end of a FJ-40. (or equivalent)

75-78 should definitely work.

If it was me I would just Heli-Coil it. The steel thread insert will actually be stronger than the cast your threading it into!

I believe they might even have heard of Heli-Coil on the left coast and most likely stock it at most hardware and auto parts stores....no promices though! ;) :hill:

Heli coils in fine pitch larger than m8 are rare at (denver area) parts stores and even the more well stocked hardware stores. 10x1.50 and 12x1.75 are fairly common. I got my 12.5x12.5 in the sale bin at Tool King, and bought out all the extra coils they had along with the kit. Still looking for a 10x1.25 kit I can buy locally.
