Almost got things together for the conversion. Spent the day cleaning, sealing and painting the new motor. I will end up with 4spd, TBI v8 and power steering (if I can get it all crammed in there!) Need to get a few parts ordered from advanced adapters and get the wiring for the puter sorted out but I'm about ready to start the transplant! Any tips or help is appreciated!

Got the new engine all lined up and about where it needs to land. Just need to weld in the motor mounts and Saginaw steering mount bracket.

Wow, that will be quite an upgrade in power!

Man, I'm hoping so! Also adding power steering and 4spd are huge upgrades.
The only iffy part so far is my computer rewire job. I think I have every wire right....we'll see soon enough! Jonesing to go wheeling, been missing it!

Get an Orion in there now so you don't have to pull that stuff out later! If you order it from Kurt he will get it to you in about 3-4 days. Ask me how I know...

Umm, what's the story here Sascha? I'm not really even sure what that is or if I need it. Newb on the subject.

The engine will be super sweet Mitch.

Well, I do have some budgetary constraints on this one. I've decided to put an auto in the 64 Chevy (blue beast), so that will be my next big purchase. Plan on buying one at the tri-state classic auto swap next month.
I'll roll with this 4spd for now. If it shells, it will give me another project later!

When are you planning on doing the steering swap? If I am available, I would love to come by and help. I want to have it done to my own truck before MOAB. Shoot me a PM.

I've got a Dana 300 with 4:1 gears & twin sticks for sale if you're gonna run a GM tranny. It's the predecessor to the Atlas but allows you to separate drive axles- front digs, etc

Travis, I am using a Toyota 4spd behind the V8 and AA adapter. I had this set up in my last cruiser and it worked well.

Sweet. I think I have an adapter laying around if you want to borrow it. A few have taken it to a machine shop & had one cut out for $20ish
