View Full Version : Cheaper alternative to Rigid LEDs?

Howdy all,

I've been looking at Rigid LEDs since seeing them in action in Moab but dang, they're proud of them! Anyone here know of a more cost effective option for driving lights? I've also looked at the PIAA and Lightforce options but kind of like the small, powerful LED cubes for a discreet - but very effective - lighting option.

Old40Dog and I have been in touch with a manufacturer. I'm running two of their 18 watt 6-LED "worklights" on the back of my roof rack and am very pleased. Those two are brighter than four 55w halogens in the front at a fraction of the current draw. If you have been on Amazon and e-Bay you are seeing some of their product after markups.

Stay tuned. This may be the alternative you want. However, buying foreign-manufactured-direct has risk associated with the cost savings.

I've been thinking of getting these based on some threads on 'mud, so take that for what its worth :) I've no first hand experience with them.

I'm very please with my Iron Moose lights. Yes they are Chinese import like oh so many 'insert your name here' brands on the web BUT the support is different. Instead of buying from some random on Alibaba, eBay or similar, Kyle (Moosemann, FJ40 & FJ55 owner) actually traveled to China to meet the manufactures and inspect their operations, they have had testing done and they stock a wide array of products here in the US. Sure your going to pay a bit more for his lights versus other China import LED's but he verifies a quality and consistent product, has inventory real-time, and offers customer support and warranties locally. Worth the slight premium imo. http://ironmoose4x4.com/collections/led-work-lights-and-light-bars

Can't go wrong with anything Kurt endorses!

Will do. I don't really see myself climbing under the bumper when its this could outside to install lights any time soon. More of a spring activity :)

Like my 20" bar from ironmoose. Good quality stuff. Then toytec is getting setup with a line that are made in the USA. Should be damn good prices from what he said, and he's pretty local to save on shipping as well.

We are also impressed with the Iron Moose lights, I have a 44" bar and a 12" bar on the War pig, and have used them on many customer trucks! We have some models in stock. Great pricing as well. P.S. We are putting a set of 8" single rows on Woodys 79 series!
