So I'm in kind of a weird spot for the Moab trip. Months ago my friend and his girlfriend invited me and my girlfriend to go to Moab with about 15 of their friends from April 30 to May 4, and they rented 3 houses for everyone. I said sure, not even realizing it was Cruise Moab weekend. The only problem is that they all ride quads and rzrs, and I don't think any of them have much interest in wheeling in "trucks".

I'd like to join the club on a few runs since I know it will be a blast, but I can't dedicate the whole trip to Cruise Moab since it would be weird to ditch the people I came with. My fear is that if I register for Cruise Moab and pay the fees, the trail rides will already be full and I'll be SOL. Can you guys who are going let me know if everything and/or if it would still be worth it to register? Thanks!!

It's not too late, and there are still openings on many great trails. You could certainly go through the registration process online (www.cruisemoab.com) and see what trails are available each day. If you're not happy with the selections available, you can simply abandon the process at the end and not complete the payment process. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how many good options remain!

Cool thanks! Since most of my group will be on motos, atvs and rzrs I doubt they'll want to wait up for a loaded 6,000+ lb truck :D

You'll have a blast and might even end up wanting to ditch the "lightweights" :lmao: Look forward to seeing you in Moab!

There are 14 spots left as of this evening - we would love to have you! FWIW, when you register, the dropdowns with "XX" spots left are kind of meaningless at this point in the registration cycle. A lot of those trails we may not be running for lack of interest, and others have had people change from their first choices. Just sign up for what you want and I'll work with you to make it happen.

Jeff,

What trails have a lack of interest? I may be interested......

Jeff,

Interested in running trails that other registrants did not sign up for? We have two trails that had around 1-2 choices per day, Chicken Corner and Metal Masher. We are not running either of those trails this year.

There were several trails that had low interest and the people that wanted those trails were funneled into the days that we are running those trails. For example we are only running Dome Plateau and Sevenmile Rim of Friday because we had only 1-2 people ask for either on Thursday or Saturday, but a dozen or so on Friday was enough to put those people on those trails on Friday and give them something different on Thursday or Saturday.

Very few people asked for Behind the Rocks on Thursday or Saturday, but a fair number on Friday got that trail on the map (plus it is a sponsored trail that day), and the Behind the Rocks people who asked for Thursday or Saturday got put on Friday and got their second or third choice on Thursday or Saturday.

What we try to do is give registrants what they want, generally on which day they want it, but sometimes we give them the trails they wanted, just on different days than their first choice.

I do have a couple of gunner spots to fill, and every year there are a couple of leaders who either break and can't lead: something comes up and we have to find new leaders on the spot. If you'd like to volunteer to be a backup leader I'd love to have you on the team. Backup leaders are like the copilots of Cruise Moab, when the pilot becomes incapacitated and the copilot has to land the plane.

I just got back from jeep safari. I was going to wait for this until next year but if there are still trails and camping available maybe I'll skip Flagstaff and do this. Nice to be around some Toyota's!

Well I went ahead and registered! I signed up for Hell's Revenge Thursday and Tim's run on Friday, and I think I'll hang with my group on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it!

Sounds great I'm looking forward to it. I just had the timing belt, water pump, and radiator done and took care of a bunch of fluids too, so I'll be ready!

I see you'll be with Christo and Carl on Hells Revenge on Thursday, with Tim Nakari and me on Wipeout on Friday, and as you wrote, no trail run on Saturday. There is still room on both those trails, I'll get your trail assignment confirmation to you this evening or tomorrow as time permits. As you might imagine, this is a super-busy time for us on the committee.

We did packet stuffing last night so you won't have a printed label on your packet or an individualized assignment sheet, we finalized that stuff Sunday evening. Your label will be hand-written and you'll just have to remember (or ask me at the event) what your trail assignments are.

Looking forward to wheeling with you, happy cruisin'!

Sounds great - I'm sure you are busy and I'm not worried at all about the packet. I'm just glad I'm going! I'll remember my trail assignments and my copilot/girlfriend will for sure if I don't! :thumb: Thanks!!
