FYI, 7509-7812 birfs are different than 7901-up. And AFAIK, all aftermarket birfs are made for 7901-up applications.

We had these custom made by cvunlimited and purchased through a local parts shop in their area in NC. We had 6 or 8 sets made- I think 6 IIRC - this was 6 years ago and my memory fades. Used the same ones in a variety of years but I believe the latest model was a 78. We sold our 76 with them installed- great mod.

That's really cool. All the newfield/longfield/smurfields I've ever seen or heard of are the shorter versions that work in 7901-up applications. Those can be used in the 7509-7812 applications, but you they aren't long enough to put the clip on the end, you have to use a big fender washer and an M8 bolt on the end.

Called our good friend in Wisconsin that went in on the original purchase with us. I wanted some clarification since we've had questions. He says:

"Pretty sure that they fit 68 to 81
The "Newfield Tack" is a must for some fits.
If they are tapped for a bolt in the stub...
They work on all but the 67 and older...

They are 2nd gen AFAIK
3rd gen softened up the innards to last longer.
I shattered inners once but the bell held!

I think George will still send newer innards out to upgrade them."
