Yeah he wrote back and managed to get in touch with Christo, got it back on the road. Root cause apparently the Marlin low range gear putting out too much heat? Returning to the stock gear has restored normalcy.

What model Hi-Lux or LandCruiser does John Schaefer Drive?

here's your update:
I am unable to post on the Rising Sun forum & give an update, I tried through Mud but was still unable to post.
It turns out the T/C was getting so hot that it pushed about a quart of 90 weight out of the breather.
Joe, at Slee's, put the old low range set back in & we were good to go. He did a great job & is a stellar guy.
Sort of a bummer that the low range set created so much heat, oh well maybe Marlin will come out with a set of gears that doesn't heat things up as much.
If any of the Colorado guys are ever in Southern AZ & need a hand please give them my number.
Thanks again for the help!
Take it easy,
John Schaefer (PBR Streetgang on Mud)

That's a pretty good update!
I wonder if that T-case build was sound and broken in correctly...

I'm in Az and I have the low range gears installed (by Slee) and have driven many miles with no problems. Sounds like an installation issue to me.
