After a long cold winter, there's nothing better than getting out to the desert for some R&R. With truck work (mostly) completed, I headed out of Denver Friday morning, planning on hitting up the April Action Car show in Moab before a few days of exploring with Martin.

Originally, I planned to get to Moab via Yellow Cat country, but before I was over Vail Pass A call from Dave Hartman would end up having me stopping at Grand Junction for two new trailer tires for him. Oh Well. Was fun catching up with the Hartman's, and enjoying some fine hot rods before heading further out to the desert.

Some of the hot rods cruising Main Street Friday night.

Awesome pics and locations, Perry. Got any updated pics of Martin's current condition? Martin, I hope you are getting around A-OK.
Suz and I were staged in Santa Fe over this weekend to hang out in Chaco Canyon for a few days this week but the wind and the snow drove us home today. Our best pics are of the 100 totally caked in ice in the driveway this afternoon. Looks like you got the same treatment in Moab starting with the car show. Bummer! Glad you stuck it out and got some early season campfires under your belt. Looking forward to a great summer of adventures and great pics like your!

Thanks Steve!

Sounds like Martin is making the best of things. A bummer way to start the season:(.

Bummer for you guys not making it to Chaco. Still on the places to check out. Yeah, the weather made things interesting. Still a great trip. Already looking forward to the next one.

So I'll be honest about being a bit bummed when turning around, half way to Fable Valley. Been day dreaming about that dang place all winter. I guess you could call it a crush. A handsome lady, getting me through the colder months. Everyday, distracted. But once Martin had permits in hand, and paid for ( thanks buddy!), the plan b trip started to set in. Time to go with the flow.

Heading back out to 211.

I too was bummed to not get further down onto the plateau and to Fable/Dark, but if we had ventured down there I think we would have been stuck for longer than we anticipated due to the rain and mud up there. I regret not bringing my chains. Although now I have an excuse for new mud tires and winch! ;)

Great pics Perry, thanks for getting all the shots of the ol' FJ60. Here's a good one of your 'runner on the E Hill trail:

Lastly, a little icing on the cake so to speak. My buddy Jeremiah was kind enough to get up early Saturday, have the rig cleaned and join me for a sunrise shoot. Was not only honored to shoot the fine machine, but also take a ride in it. Meg Cruisers are . A good way to start the long drive home to Denver:thumb:.

So this will probably be the last time I use Mikes camera for Film development. 80$ (4 rolls of film) for not the best quality. Granted the film was a bit old, but could do without the white lines. Should have gone to Denver Digital Imaging.

What are you shooting with film? Though you had a digital cam?

Brought out the old film camera for this trip. A Minolta SLR. What I started with when shooting pics. Fun to get it going again. Just forgot how much it cost:eek:.

Will be sticking to digital.

It's the subject matter that isn't worth the $! At least in that last pic! :hill::beer:
