Among the new features are split quoting and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. Are we planning to upgrade soon?
Did you upgrade on the site you manage?

I would love to, but the #$%^&* host won't upgrade their version of mysql!

 In due time. There are items that need to be tended to before it happens.

sorry, I inquired about and eta on when our host will upgrade php and mysql. They said they would be doing it but still no time frame. I thought it would be sooner rather than later. :o

Looks like the host upgraded last week. I have some backups to do and I need to pay vb for maintence before we can upgrade. It looks as if I can now get to this soon.
Did we figure out the username and password to the VBulletin site? I can pay for all of this via credit card or PayPal. Just let me know.

Well, I tried to get this done yesterday but I didn't have enough time. I had enough time to stand in line for my ski pass and watch plummer blow it for the donkeys though :o
I have the inlaws here this week but I'll try and find some time to upgrade. I've already DL the update I just need to do some house keeping first.

well.... I thought they had upgraded so I went to proceed with the upgrade and ran into some issues I'll have to find out about
vBulletin 3.6 requires PHP version 4.3.3 or greater. Your PHP is version 4.3.1, please ask your host to upgrade.
vBulletin 3.6 requires MySQL version 4.0.16 or greater. Your MySQL is version 3.23.52-nt, please ask your host to upgrade.
It was more or less a waste of a few hours... :comp:

If you see the site down don't worry. They need to migrate us to new servers to support the latest PHP and MYSQL. It'll take 20-30 minutes for them to migrate us and then I'll have to update scripts associated with the move. I may or may not be able to tend to it right when they migrate us so we might be down for up to a day. I'll try and coordinate with them some more.

nope... we have some cold fusion files on the server (.cfm) and the latest upgrade no longer supports cold fusion. They wanted to make sure were weren't using them. I'll assume they will migrate us tomorrow morning between 2-5.. sorry treeroot ;)
Cold fusion files aren't from me. Did you ask Kipper? I thought he did everything in .asp when he redid the site a few years ago.

They are from Turkey.. I'll delete them when I get a chance.

It look like the server side was updated but not the DB side....
11-30-2006, 10:15 AM
If you were on this morning you knew the db side got migrated.
Now it's on to do the VB software once I get some time.

Wes, thanks for all your efforts! I noticed the site down this morning but didn't panic, figured it was for the greater good. :beer2:

I've been sick, family in town, a little one :blah: :blah: :blah: I haven't had much time.
I hope to upgrade the forum software sometime between now and sunday. So if you see it down that's what's going on and hopefully it'll be back shortly.
Happy New Year!
