My sister and brother in law are going to pick up a 2003 Toyota Sequoia with 77,000 miles. $24,000 or so. They asked me what I know about them. Honestly I don't know much about that model. They plan on towing a Colman camper with it (a big pop up if you ask me but I don't know the specs on the trailer.) Fill me in and Ill pass on the info to them. Thanks in advance
I read on mud so far it is NOT a Land Cruiser
Same engine and drivetrain though
Not good off-highway
Much longer than a 100 series

Boulder Toyota mechanic said that they have brake and A/C problems. Don't know firsthand, though.

You could also say that 80 and 100 series have brake "problems"; they wear out faster than many people expect. I have heard that Tundras kick butt towing, especially up hills. Like Nathaniel, this is isn't first hand, just what I've heard.

Dang, I had the Tundra/Sequoia TSB in my back pocket at Hop's last week, but I think it went through the wash. The TSB had the date of manufacture but not a VIN # range. Any way Tundras built from 2000 to sometime in 2002 and Sequoias built in 2001-2002 ('03 model ?) had the 199mm caliper with a 513WE casting number on them. 2003 up and trucks that have had the recall done will have the 231mm caliper with a 13WL casting number. Hope this helps.
