View Full Version : Christmas Party

12-03-2006, 11:12 PM
The Rising Sun Christmas party will be held at the Kittredge Civic Association Building (http://www.kittredgecivic.org/images/buildingmap.gif) starting around 10 AM on Saturday December 16th and ending whenever we feel like it. Rising Sun will provide entree, sodas, and disposable plates, cups, flatware and napkins. Participants bring side dishes, desserts and stuff. We will have a gift swap: bring a gift, get a gift, $10 limit. In addition we will have a raffle and possibly RC truck fun.

The club can't provide suds, but BYOB is fine.

We'll be there. I can bring the projector if anyone has movies to show.

I forget, is the party on the 9th or 10th?

I'm a little concerned by the implied insult to vegetarians. Personally, I love vegetarians, especially grilled and served with a few cold beers. They taste like chicken! :D :lmao: :flamingo: :hill:

Organic, grass fed, free range vegetarians are best. ;)

Okay, I'll be buying the ham on club funds, and getting tablecloths, sodas and such. Let's have a headcount (Yo! I'm bringing XX side dish or XX dessert, etc.!)

Scott, and Matt - Either of you guys have cups, napkins, plates, plastic flatware left over from previous events? I know Matt said he was coming, Scott are you? I'm guessing Perry isn't :-)

Typical Christmas party side dish/dessert suggestions:

Mashed taters
Veggies like green beans
Snacks like cheese and crackers
Cranberry sauce
Christmas cookies
Crisp Veggies & dip/dressing

There's no shame in stopping at the grocery store and picking something up that isn't home-made :-)

As mentioned, BYOB...

Bring your R/C vehicles if you want...

If somebody has a boom box that would be cool to bring along with some Christmas tunes.

Matt, if you want to bring the projector, I'll bring a laptop and some 4x4 DVDs.

PLEA: Help to decorate/set up around 9:00-10:00AM would be GREATLY appreciated!!! I found out today I need to duck out to work for an hour or two that morning

Merry Christmas!

I'll be there at 10:30 or so to help get setup. I have cups, forks and napkins. I'll bring some of my Elk teriyaki sticks. I'll have to leave early for family stuff.

OK, I'll bring the projector.

I would just like to say thanks to all involved for setting up the Xmas party. I came empty handed planning on staying only a few minutes and ended up staying for several hours and leaving with a gift.

It is this type of cammeraderie that made me decide to join again. I hoped to find the same people I had left years ago and I was not disappointed.

Thanks agan for the hospitality and next year I will bring something to the party other than myself

Tom, it's great to have you back into the fold!

For those reading this, Tom was a former member who stepped aside for some years and has rejoined Rising Sun. Welcome back Tom!
