What kind of scrap are you looking for? Thickness, 5052 H-32, 6061 T-6, 2024 T-3, & how big(LxW)? Are you looking for barstock or sheet? I might be able to help you out with some sheet, let me know.

Ian,
I have a good friend that builds custom Harley's and has a shop faily close to you. I will hook you up as they are very talented machinests and I have little doubt that they have billett scrap you can play with. Might even share some tips of the trade.

When I used to purchase aluminum, I bought it from Jorgenson Steel & Aluminum in Denver. That was always a lot of stuff though.. like many pallest full of extrusions. The other place we used was Olympic Metals. I suspect they may have a "bargain bin" they'd let someone dig through, then purchase by the pound. Similar to Colorado Plastics in Boulder if you ever need acrylic or polycarbonate sheets.

Ian, we've got a couple scraps here I could snag for you, though it's all 1.5" od and under, round stock. both aluminum and brass, let me know if you want a couple pieces..

FYI Western Recycling in Boulder has some cut offs and bar stock, $1.10/lb.

Not to hi-jack, but who carries steel around here by the pound? Scrap or leftovers?

Thanks!
