View Full Version : Any web cam experts out there?

In the spirit of trying to stay in touch with distant relatives, I purchased a web cam, the Logitech QuickCam Fusion (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1578490&CatId=130). I convinced my brother-in-law to do the same.

I have the Logitech software installed and running fine. The new web cam works great.

I created an account thru Windows Live Messenger:
the.farrs *at* hotmail *dot* com

Tonight, my brother-in-law and I tried to connect. We're able to IM each other nearly instantaneously -- but no luck on the Video Call, which was the whole point of buying these things.

Problem: we're two n00bs trying to connect. We don't know on which end the problem exists, or maybe we both are having problems...

Anyone out there a regular web cam / video call user?

No a webcam user but I do use Messenger for 'voice' and have found that if both ends are not on the exact same version then more often than not there are problems. I would start there and make sure both of you are on the same version...

HTH...if not, then I got nothing :(
