View Full Version : Identify This Cruiser?

Can anyone identify the model of this cruiser? Here is the blip that was on the site where I found the pic.

"Heavy cars and soft snow just don’t mix...so the Icelanders embarked on some serious modifications. And the Toyota Land Cruiser you see in the picture is what you end up with: diesel, preferably (better range-to-torque ratio than petrol); ladder chassis (easier to body-lift in extreme situations); jacked-up suspension to accommodate tyres anywhere up to 44 inches tall which can be lowered to anything down to 3psi to spread a three-tonne load."

Those are pretty sweet. Are they built like you would expect a Cruiser to be.

The rigs up in Iceland are amazing. A good friend of mine is Icelandic, and he spends a lot of time wheelin' and camping on the glaciers. He runs an 80 series with some serious mods. Here are a few pics he sent me from the spring. A few years back I spent 14 days up there, traveling around the country in the Ford E350 van you see in the background of the last image. I have a bunch of Arctic truck stickers if anyone is interested :)

Yep. 120 series Prado, not 90 series Prado. Same platform they based the FJC on.
