I wrote a quick app to display all of the old forum attachments so you guys can download them. They are broken down by your old forum username.

[color=Red]UPDATE:
[color=Black]I just found a local backup of the forum from April 27th, 2005. We still lost all of this summer, but it's better than data from 2004. That info has been restored to the old forum

Cool, are they going anywhere? If not I may just leave mine alone in that handy little directory there... man some of you guys are attachment-crazy.

Nope, not going anywhere. You can certainly leave them there if you want.

So the words got deleted, but all of our pictures and other attachments remain? That's actually good to know. For example, I would have hated to have lost this picture:

They are listed alphabetically, which is nice, but I notice that there are different naming conventions: some filenames incorporate the date, and some do not. For the ones that do not, is there a way to decode when they were created on the server?

TIA

Let's not get off track here, folks. Now here's a picture that we wouldn't have wanted to lose. In fact, had the hackers seen this picture, they probably would have left us alone.

If you FTP into the server, you should be able to see when each file was created. I believe you still have FTP access. Otherwise, no not really.

Cool. Thanks Kipper. As long as U/N P/W is still the same, then yes I still do. I'll check that out. My recollection from the last time I poked around was that each forum user's attachements were basically one big file, so now they are divided up I would guess.

Again, thank you for your quick response to this emergency.

Hey Kipper: Question...can a thread on the old forum (prior to 4/29/05) be cloned here, or would it be just a copy and paste type thing?

Bump. Had to look all over the place for this thread, and couldn't remember enough verbiage to get decent search results.
