I just recently acquired a 1984 Landcruiser and was interested in having it checked out by a mechanic familiar with Toyota 4x4's in the South Denver Metro area? Overall, the car appears to be in solid shape but has trouble starting in cold weather and will die/stall frequently until the engine is warm.

Also the parking brake needs to be replaced.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Any suggestions are appreciated.

south metro? I'd suggest calling Ron at RockyMountainCruisers (http://www.rockymountaincruisers.com/). Hampden & Santa Fe-ish..

welcome aboard! :thumb:

South Metro? Hit up our own LexusBen here on the forum. He's forgotten more about Toyota 4x4s than most of us will ever know.

You could also try Toy Car Care (http://www.toycarcare.com/)... they are excellent.

But try Ben first. :thumb:

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked them out and they are 2 months out before they can even look at the vehicle. I think they really focus on restorations. They must be very good at what they do!

I'm going to try Toy Care Care tonight-hopefully they'll get me going in the right direction. I'm looking forward to getting some good use out of the 'Cruiser this summer.

This sounds normal for a 60. :D :lmao: You'll get the hang of it, every 60 has it's own special starting procedure. You'll eventually learn the secrets of your manual choke. ;)

It's worth the drive to go up to Charleys Garage in Boulder. They know old Landcruisers and are honest.

I used to take my 1982 FJ60 to Greg at the Toy Shop. 1185 S. Cherokee St. Denver, CO 80223. (303) 744-7621 I still like him, but now I have an 80 so I'd go to Slee or Greg depending on what I needed.

Colorado Toyota Specialists is actually in Aspen Park (where the old HotDog building used to be). Not that far up 285 (about 15 minutes from C-470 and 285).I agree with Matt that both Joe from CTS andLEXUS Ben know there stuff when it comes to landcruisers :D :D

Lexus Ben is near Arapahoe Rd and Quebec if he is not already booked up..
