Well....as I dig into the my 'new' 40, i realized the horn no workie. I guess there needs to be a horn (or two) for it work. hmmm....
I don't know where the horn elect. leads should come from. I have connectors that are dangling from each of the headlight harness right near the plug that goes into the lamp itself. - I think they are green or blue wires. Is this where the horns should plug into?
Here's (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94906) what you need:

I've got electrical diagrams for a '74 & '75 FJ40 but I'm not sure that would be much help :)
Had one for the '76 but I'm pretty sure that went with the '76 to CA

...I've been pouring over the manual that came with the 40...a Toyota Chassis manual. In looking at the wire diagrams....it's for a 79. (D'OH) Anyone know how close the wiring is between the years??
Could I just rig up my test light and peer through the hood when I hit the horn?

Before you start chasing wiring gremlins, I would take the steering wheel apart and clean off the contacts in the buttons and the column. They tend to get corroded.
