For Sale:

H42 (stock) 4 speed transmission out of a late 85 FJ60. This is the long version.

80,000 miles on it. Picked it up a while ago to replace mine, but I'm no longer going to use it.

$50.00

depending on the engine I get for my 40, I could maybe use it?? I would love a 4 speed...what would my engine choices be?

Should bolt up to any F series engine. More difficult part is that it has to go in front of a Split Case. (1981-87)

Tim-

You would need to make drive shaft changes to make it all fit, but then a 2f and 4 speed with the split case (stronger with optional aftermarket gearing sets) might be worth it.

I really need one, too. I'll buy it if no one else does. My '87 rattles around in every gear when shifting and occasionally pops out of second before I let the clutch out. If this one is gone and somebody knows of another, let me know!

Seeing as you need it the most if you still want it let me know and it's yours.

Well,

I nursed my four speed along while completing my FJ62 project. Now I drive the FJ62 daily and the wife wants to own only one Landcruiser, so the FJ60 has to go. I just spent the weekend putting in a 4spd/transfer combo that I got for $100 to cure what ailed the fj60. Since I used the pre-assembled combo I want to put this 4speed back on the market.

I had really hoped to keep both 'cuisers and put this into my fj60 while I worked to restore it, but now it should go to someone buidling a nice keeper rig. It is the same 4speed as advertised in the beginning of the post with ~80,000 miles on it.

I only want what I have in it - $65. $50 that I paid plus the $15 I spent on getting my father-in-law to go pick it up. It is now in Central Denver. I live a few miles due east of Downtown and can help with meeting someone partway.

I also have a 1987 transmission/transfer combo with shifters, mount and crossmember for sale. It has a sketchy 2nd gear. Not too bad for light around town driving in summer. Hard to shift into 2nd without grinding when the weather gets cold and has nearly jumped out of gear a couple of times when pushing in the clutch under load. Transfer works great. $250 obo for all.
