Ah, but seriously... we have a cabin from Weds thru Sat, but nothing prior. Not sure of our early Moab plans yet, but you got room for another tent in 82?:lmao: No really.

:lmao:

Seriously. Sorry, I can't stop chuckling.

J/K, I figger the three or four of us can squeeze into my "one man" elk hunting tent.

Beater
03-20-2007, 01:55 PM
there's always room for your family with me bill, you know that.. Plus, I TOLD you I have two tents. You want me to bring the extra?

Red_Chili
04-16-2007, 10:26 AM
Well, ain't *I* slow or what?
Naw, I've got my Elk Rig (marca registrada, patent pending) that should do nicely.
The thought occurs that if my lovelier half can bear it, I can save a chunk of change by camping the week and letting the cabin go - are you open to that?

Beater
04-16-2007, 10:37 AM
I already have wes's there, so if we can fit three - sure.. I think the vehicle parking is the problem

Red_Chili
04-16-2007, 10:44 AM
Hmmm... sounds tight. My 2 man tent (says 5 man, but IMHO that is small Japanese men at most) plus whatever Justin is sleeping in - if not ours. Think it will work?

Red_Chili
04-16-2007, 01:05 PM
OK, I just switched around. The lovely Mrs. Chili says she is up for camping, she will be just fine, no cabin required. That means a cabin is free Tues-Sat for those who prefer to lock out the cottonwood.

I'm gonna be in one of the spaces on the north side 4/29-5/6, which should accommodate Red Chili, Green Chili, and Squishy (Red Chili Jr., don't tell him I put it like that). :D

[edit]"Squishy"?? Man... like, he coulda called it Lil' Habanero or something... but SQUISHY?? Sheesh.:lmao:

Trains.
Gotta jump the cars quick.
Or, to change metaphors, it comes from years of being a feline herdsman.

You indicated it might be a bit crowded, so I thought I'd better look to it myself and just get a campsite for the whole time- although it does sound like 82 would be the place to pah-tay!!

[edit] My new site is 15 BTW

Room for your trailer in the lot next door. Room for your truck in front of the cabin. But you better hurry up and call them!!!

Mark, the clean bed is nice. But I really like being where all the action is. Last year, I stayed in a condo with some other guys. We had a good time, but I always felt like I was missing out on the fun at the campground.

My $0.02, YMMV.

I should hear in about two months, right?

Bill,
I have stayed in both the pop up and the cabin and the pop can be better. Go to Costco and get the 3" matters foam topper at CostCo/Sams some call it the NASA Foam and but that on top of your popup mattresses. Makes a huge difference.

Does your popup have a kitchen and a frig?

I got a reply within a few days, and that was over Christmas. I used the online reservation request dealyo as opposed to just sending an email.

Yup, it is a 10 R/T. Very comfy. Just had not planned on pulling it over there. That dust storm (actually two in close proximity) last year was a killer, I would have rather not subjected the very nice popup to it - but hey, it should be very comfy. There is also the ever present risk of mechanical difficulties and breakage, which a trailer would complicate, but I'm not gonna push it this year.

I might have to give the NASA foam a try though. The stock mattresses are way comfy, but more is better, right?

Bill, trust me. You will be much happier in the 10RT rather than the cabin. All you need to worry about is Eisenhower and vail pass. Just go slower than you like, but you'll get there.

Nuttin' like a late reply.
On St. Paddy's weekend I pulled it over Vail and Eisenhower. On glare ice going out, nice dry asphalt coming back. It did admirably, gotta love those trailer brakes and the way it pulls. Only got 13mpg though, except a stretch of 16mpg coming back and taking it easy. If I loped along, I bet I could average 15mpg or maybe a bit better. I did notice jamming the right foot made a huge difference.

Forgot to drain the half tank of water coming back, did you know that sloshing water can set up quite a sway at 70mph?:lmao:

I think they have limits on the number of vehicles, and charge by the person per site, so call 'em.

They say 1 vehicle per spot and they charge extra for an extra tent. May be cramped.

I have broken the rules with two trucks for me and Sarah last two years but the most you can fit even breaking the rules is 2 vehicles per site.

I think having more than alex would be goinf to far from a vehicle point of view. There are other spots he can park his truck and sleep as well

Romer
04-01-2008, 07:54 PM
BTw Drew- let me know if your going to pack them in at your site, I'll move down a few spots and give you some room :D
