Someone started a thread on Mud about boycotting certain businesses

I think we talked about this in May and found some of the businesses on the list to be in error. Anyone who has some facts should post up. I hate to boycott a business that doesn't deserve it.

Old news. This came up last year or the year before. It's not a big issue.

This whole issue was debunked 2 years ago when it was discovered that SUWA used less than honest tactics (go figure ) in getting business owners to sign on.

Here is one of many examples:

IIRC SUWA lost corporate funding over this issue :thumb:

It seems like there is a small contingent of knuckle dragging trolls out there (*note the poster on mud only has 2 posts) that insist on keeping the issue going. I've seen their list of retailers to boycott grow exponentially. Their only criteria, it seems, is not based on any facts surrounding land use issues but on which retailers sell Real Tree Camo.

*OR* it might be someone from SUWA trying to keep thing stirred up (I would not put it passed them)

Either way, by acknowledging their posts we have been suckered into furthering their narrow minded objectives.

This stuff never dies, I guess.

Shortly after this whole Suwa trickery, Rising Sun put some money into an ad thanks the Moab community for their support of the 4WD community. It ran full page in the Moab Times.

Suwa won't get another chance to pull this trick, I think. The Moab businesses are wary now.
