Thank you for the links...John made me clean all his guns. He says it is a good way for me to learn but I think he just wanted me to clean all his guns. ;)

My dad is the official paper wasp killer, he has more kills on record than anyone else! :D

I'm just about ready to part ways with my 40. Just had a second child and wife got a sequoia. So I get to build the 100. I've been having carb problems since my frame swap. I sent it to Mark's offroad for a rebuild/performance upgrade. Should be back middle of next week. I'll walk you or him through the stuff I've done over the last 9 years of ownership.I was thinking about $4500 without the winch. call me 970 470-1102. I'm in Vail.

Doesn't look like much of a project, it's already done. That you wanted more of a project.

Seems like a pretty good deal -- you couldn't build one for that amount of money unless you had some source for free parts. Did you go look at it and drive it? The pictures and description make it worth a look, IMO. You may find that you just don't want to buy a 40 that someone else has built their way; you may fall in love with it.

I have to agree with Matt! That rig has the right beginnings if it was done right and not shoddy! The welded rear will bug you but thats easily swapped. I ran a mini spool in the rear of my 40 for a while. It was OK but there were times it drove me crazy.

thanks for the feedback, guys. I consider anything I buy to be a project, as I will end up wanting to change a lot of stuff anyway. :) I emailed him and hope to drive it later this week. Any 40 experts want to drive it with me for a 6-pack? :)

I'm near Evergreen. Among the main things to look for will be how the V8 conversion has been done, adapter for the auto tranny to t-case, and the SOA. And of course, rust.
