they only have internet up by the office/pool... not down at the camp sites. So uploads will be somewhat compromised.. anyway Ken & I ran up Porkypine rim this morning, always a good time..

then this afternoon were treated to a recovery training session by the FJ team. That was way cool, had no idea all the stuff I didn't know.. :D alright on with the pics.

I heard you were headed up Baby Lion's Back into Hell's Revenge? Tim J spotted you when he was leaving the Slickrock trail.

I've seen a couple folks headed west in I-70 through Vail. Spent my day waxing up the 100. Pics look good. See you there tomorow night.

Everyone must be busy stuffing packets and getting ready for tomorrow or something. The board sure is quiet.

Hants is the man!!! We've been without internet until just a few minutes ago.. Hants set up a local network using CaliStyle's Verizon deal.. so we should have better internet access now.

Nice and cool today for registration, awesome. I'll get the other laptop out later and post up some more pics.

Looks great guys. How's it working out with the 2m radios?

nakman
05-02-2007, 02:59 PM
Ige just get out here, there will be room. 2m radios have been great. Yesterday Mike broke a long at the top of Cliffhanger, needed an inner axle seal. Convert was able to talk to Nathaniel down at camp, who found him one. couldn't have scripted that any better.. we can talk all over the valley on these things.

Here is Hants on Cliffhanger (Convert spotting), followed by Treeroot....

thanks, but 151 is a tent site and there's not much room for more than one small tent.

oh, we will get out there :D just want to have a plan ahead of time cause we won't be leaving denver until about 5:30pm at the earliest. gonna need a couple of seats on saturday too as we're not bringing a wheeling rig, this trip is strictly to pick up the raffle truck, but that's the easiest part.

It appears the LF was assembled wrong as the balls have not been tracking in the center. All wasn't lost though as the intact (but damaged) bell and stub have become a new novelty.......the Bobby Longshot! I'm sure pictures will follow! :lmao: :hill:

Cotton is an all time nasty this year and wind through the grass-less cotton filled Slickrock has been quite discouraging! Many folks have bugged out of Slickrock and are staying in surrounding campgrounds and hotels. I am in Charlie Rupps (Papa Smirf) cabin right now at the Riverbend Oasis campground and not only is the wireless working great the grass buffers the wind and sand storms and the lack of cotton is a welcome relief! :thumb:

A lot of running Cliffhanger, have a couple pics from today. Nakman and I ran Hells today too with Mike Coons - really happy with my 40! Got a little over 15 mpg between Glenwood and here, running 65-75  Took 6 hours exactly topless and doorless! Was able to do everything my buddy CJ7 Matt couldn't do, except get myself out of one of the bathtubs.

What is that? A pavillion?

subzali

right by the bathroom in the middle of the campground.

I forgot about that diesel mini on the night of the raffle, that would have been a good candidate for non-Cruiser best truck.

I hadn't seen it until AFTER the raffle. I agree, it would have been a contender for sure.

it used to be the cafe that was in slickrock. the building and fence are gone and the covered tables are all that's left
