Motor runs. I have not heard it yet personally. Will tomorrow am. I plan to update thread with photos then. 170K on odometer. I'd like to sell the engine 1st if possible so new owner can hear it before pulled from truck.

Edit: 22r Engine runs smooth. No knocks or lifter noise.

Doors seem OK, passenger is hitting the front quarter and will not open completely. Drivers works fine.

The 1985 only came with a 22RE, and a rare carbed 22R, so pretty safe to say. I don't see the EFI badge and the tcase seems to be fwd shift, likely a G tranny, and therefore carbed. 22R. Tell the Chili what he wins, Monty...

Ya know, as I look at the truck, those are not SR5 seats (which is not surprising since the truck is not an SR5). I believe with the forward shift tcase that truck would have come with a bench seat.

That said, I would have to say these seats are nicer than the SR5 seats I have from an '85 (that say SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5SR5 all over them in maddening repetition). More adjustments, nicer levers. Prolly out of a Toyota car?

Worthy seats, Chris, they would do nicely for you.

I might buy the stereo from you if it works (and you're not keeping it).

The one in my 40 won't eject my CD. Too bad: it's a sweet Sony ES unit, too.

Yes. It's for my wife's '85. The seat covers are shot. I especially am interested in the bed if it's not rusty. Blue would be a direct swap. :) I do have a line on a red one, though.

PM'ed for pricing.

It'll clean up. As long as the wheel wells are intact, we're good. You got my PM? We already have taillights, so you can sell them separately. Or, we may take them if no one else wants them.

Magoo, I'd love to see someone take the engine/trans/TC all in one. Make my life much easier.

Consensus engine is 22r. I started it up this morning and drove it around the parking lot then shut it off to prevent overheat. TC went into 2H,4H,4L no problems. Trans is a 5 speed I only used 1st and reverse.

I have not got the hood up yet to confirm power steering but I'm sure it is. I can't turn the wheel of my FJ40 with one finger, this I could.

I'll have more time to play with it Sunday. Let me know if there is anything else you want checked out.

I may go up and take a look Sunday. Jeanette is real interested in the bed and maybe the seats. Anybody got a trailer we could drag it down here with?

Chris,

I've got a small utility trailer you could use...Probably would want to measure first though to insure it would fit :)

Right now the trailer is strapped upright to the garage wall with a FJ40 in the way :(

i've got a utility trailer too, but the bed would probably ride on top of the rails. lots of places to strap it down to though;)

Thanks gang. I was probably premature. Corbett may bring the whole thing down with his truck/trailer.

Corbet

I'm only going to haul this down if I have buyers lined up for the majority of the large items. Drivetrain, bed, etc... All buyers would have to be available at the same time, like before a meeting.

I don't have time to do it more than once.

 Well, shucks. We realized after we went up and looked at the truck that it is a long bed and we have a short bed. So I have to pass on the bed. The seats looked OK, but Jeanette wants to stay with hers. Thanks anyway, Corbet! :D

I'll try and post up a pic later today. It looks like the 2WD fender is not as flared as the 4WD version. This is an 85 2WD pickup we're talking about.

OK. Here are the two front fenders side-by-side. Notice how the 4x4 fender is more flared. BTW, the production date on the 2WD truck is Oct. 84, but it's registered as an 85.
