I posted this thread when I found out I couldn't attend the meeting yesterday, I guess no one saw it...

I need to put a commitment for volunteer hours in the letter. It means the difference between a matching grant or not. Let's not be indifferent to an environmentalist trying to make an OHV area successful!!!

The commitment need not be more than four people for two work days, next year. I think we can do that, but since it's now impossible to vote on it as a club prior to the deadline I need to solicit individuals.

Worst case I guess I could just volunteer myself only but it would be the wrong message to send Colleen I think.

Count me in. The only reason(s) I didn't make the last Jenny Creek work day was both my rigs have mechanical issues plus I had health issues (lame excuses I know :-)

Anyway, I even had help lined up to come with. I really want to do some work on Jenny Creek, and of course Argentine too.

When It comes to volunteer hours I think you should run with your best estimate. You know us.. Were always willing to volunteer some hours for a good cause.

Safe with 4 people, 16 hours (two work days)? If we just come up with 8 peeps, it's only one day...

Bill,
You know I'm good for it unless schedualling is over something I can't get out of.

Colleen Williams, Director
James Creek Watershed Initiative
P. O. Box 110
Jamestown, CO 80455

Dear Colleen,

We strongly support the efforts of the James Creek Watershed Initiative to obtain a 319 Nonpoint Source grant for the Lefthand OHV Area Restoration project. We as a club can contribute 64 volunteer hours of in-kind service helping on the project at $17/hr.

We truly appreciate the opportunity to support this project, and strongly support the goal of having diverse groups working together to show that a high quality OHV recreation area can exist along with clean water. The purpose of the grant, to decrease the amount of erosion, direct runoff onto vegetative buffer areas, and decrease the amount of sediment entering Lefthand Creek, is in perfect alignment with the values of our 4x4 club.

Thank you for considering our support.

Sweet. I don't want to 'go to the well' too many times and burn everyone out. If every member of the club just donated 8 hours a year on various projects we will get a ton done. If everyone just donates 16 hours a year... woohoo.
